Whisper? I'm talking about Tempus AI. They have FDA approved systems that trained on the largest database of medical data in the world, not the internet. I know the trendy thing is to hate AI, but being smug doesn't replace knowledge, they aren't building all those data centers for chat bots.

"no tangible benefit at all for anyone", how about detecting terminal diseases months in advance? rapidly accelerating drug development? general automation? these things were already happening *last year*

One issue I have with things like this is that they don't factor in green energy usage, which is at least 25% (maybe even 30% iirc) of data center energy usage from the big 3 (Azure, AWS and google)
Although, Trump's 3000% solar tariffs are gonna slow that mitigation.
