It’s goose nesting season and this cozy mama would like me to be back up please 🤭. Unlike chickens, domestic geese only lay for about 6 weeks a year, around March where we live. Each goose gives us about 20/eggs per year so each one is precious. They are delicious and creamier than a chicken egg!

My lovely Melissa, a Coopworth sheep, gave birth to three beautiful little boys today. She’s got her hoofs full with these three! #coopworthsheep #womenbehindwool #lambingseason

In the winter, we sometimes let the chickens into the gardens to have a scratch around when nothing is growing. It’s a great way to turn over our cover crop and give the chickens a little fun! They’re so happy on garden day.

Daily lamb spam! My sweet babies, Jack and Rose. Their ears are killing me with cuteness. Today was their first day outside and after about five minutes, they decided a nap back in the barn was more appealing 😁

Here is my sweet Fuzzy girl. She’s my oldest sheep and the first Romney I ever had. She’s a sweet, slow old lady who has no tolerance for shenanigans or being moved quickly. I’ve bred her to a BFL so I’m hoping for some lovely ewe babies to keep! She’s earned a long retirement here on the farm.

My sweet boy group out on some fresh grass today. The wind was bone chilling cold but they don’t care as long as they have yummy grass! #oregonsheep #fiberfarm #romneysheep #coopworthsheep #oregonsmallfarm
