I know that thats what it nominally claims, but Im sceptical of the actually to that if the alternative is 'workers councils'. Usually it seems to be in anarchist theory 'abolish the state***
*** apart from all this'

This is the worst game of leftist semantics. We have a leftist theory where the deliniation of socialism, communism, and anarchism as signifiers is blurred, but you know damn well what I mean. And dont treat me like a moderate for using a turn of phrase loved by Noam Chomsky

But again, anarchists are right in recognising both state and market as stifling and looking towards mutualism and cooperatism. Im sceptical of the abolition of state, class, and money as things that can be actually achieved, but accept them as the direction we should move towards

Nah. Every socialist state should have got more politically liberal, every liberal state should have got more economically socialist

My main qualm is with the associations to anarchy. I think its a noble ethical creed but ultimately a political philosophy should have a theory of how a state should function. Liberal gets the gist that if there should be a state there should be checks and balances and limits to power

I think there should be fundamental changes to the economy, but some of the language here I struggle to wrap my head around. For instance Free Market. As anticapitalists have been at pains to point out for decades, our current settlement isnt even free markets but socialism for the rich

but libertarian is a mouthful and I think it it a good thing to represent liberalism, as its a rich historical tradition which cannot be reduced to just capitalism, and has always contained the economic left

I mean, if I called myself anything else it would be libertarian socialist, or any other word next to socialist that signifies a concern for individual liberties/recognised the reality of state hierarchical domination.
