Very cool, I've been whale watching a few times with @orcaweb.bsky.social in the Bay of Biscay and seen lots of cetaceans but no basking sharks, but would love to.

When basking sharks were more common it might have been even more likely for them to swim together creating a many-humped sea serpent.

This one's by Peter Reddick, Keeping's style tends to be sketchier.

I believe Murray was the originator of the idea that William II was ritually sacrificed, in her 1954 book 'The Divine King in England'.

For TV there's a couple of examples. M.R. James said the original story of A View From a Hill was set there, although the adaptation doesn't specify and it wasn't filmed there. There's also Midwinter of the Spirit, which I haven't seen either but have recently bought on DVD.

I haven't yet, I'll seek it out.

My favourite Bigfoot film is probably Suburban Sasquatch, but that's based on how hilariously rubbishly entertaining it is.

I was pleasantly surprised, I'm generally a bit wary of found footage but this used it effectively. The Borderlands aka Final Prayer is another favourite and very creepy.

Seems to have, could have done without the extra stress though. On the plus side going through all my multitudinous open tabs and bookmarks has meant I've rediscovered some things I'd forgotten!

I hadn't noticed the name until you queried it.
