the sort of magical realism where the magic is only there to highlight the realism, and the story knowing a film IS fantasy and, in light of that, knowing you know this, asking you pretty directly what concessions you're willing to make... and a film that has zero interest in disproving itself

great movie for playing with the form and structure, demanding of its audience, audio that's intentionally hard to make out, self-aware conventions it leans into as a test of mutual resolve, the length of time the camera is allowed to linger to create discomfort through nothing but mundane actions,
