This is your reminder that we share the same planet as mandarin dragonets and maybe we should appreciate the natural world a whole lot more than we do.
A red mandarin goby. It looks like a tiny stubby fish about the size of your thumb, but covered in an iridescent orange-red silk necktie with blue stripes A green mandarin goby. Same body shape, the silk tie is teal with blue, yellow, and orange accents. A blue mandarin goby. This motherfucker is unreal. Base color is cobalt blue, and it has red, green, and yellow accents. A psychedelic, or orange-spot, mandarin! Same basic body shape but the silk necktie shell is a pale yellow-green, with orange and blue spots.
