I almost got scammed by a rescue in Portugal. They advertised puppies and I enquired about one, was ready to pay the deposit after talking about the dogs needs, logistics etc. Then they ghosted, found out they had taken money from others with no dog delivered so the website pulled their adverts.

I was genuinely shocked at the angle they took, I thought better of them than that episode. Disappointed.
