Another vote for 8bitdo stuff. I have a Pro 2 and an Ultimate C (the budget version of Ultimate, which one assumes is even better) and love them both dearly.
I also have two retro-style pads of theirs (SN30 Plus and M30) and they're great too.

Genuinely one of my favorite controllers ever. Very keen on getting an SN30 as well to get the right feel in older games (and I personally find that anything button mash-y is more comfortable without grips).
