Despite rhetoric from the Lula Government that the COP will offer real solutions, his government has been criticised for launching new projects such as the Tropical Forests Forever Facility (TFFF) and prominent presence of corporations who continue to push false solutions such as carbon marketsー

The Peoples Summit is the culmination of nearly two years of planning by hundreds of organisations from across Brazil including key indigenous movements from the Amazon. The Peoples Summit will run counter to the official UNFCCC COP hosted by the Lula led Government of Brazil.

based on his presentation of evidence allegedly linking CPF’s Yisan fish farm in Samut Songkhram province to the outbreak of invasive species - Blackchin tilapia in Thailand, and called for the company to take responsibility for the resulting loss to farmers and the ecological impacts. (2/3)
