as for this issue theres a couple of things i'll do to fix normal map bumps that ill take pictures of!( you can always see the issue better in solid view)

have duplicated meshes with the normals flipped so the transparency behaves in ffxiv's engine. so when you have a hair mod that has a duplicated mesh, its normals are always flipped.

i hope this is all making sense because backfaces are my mortal enemy but basically:
- blue outside/ red inside is correct
- red outside/ blue inside means that the normals need to be flipped
-pink/purple is your mesh duplicated. a lot of modded hairstyles from other games ported into ffxiv will-

if you turn on face orientation in blender and your mesh is blue out/ red in then you want show backfaces to be on. if your mesh is pink out/purple in instead then you want backfaces to be hidden

i havent done any ffxiv modding recently but if im remembering right you have to change the texture settings in textools to either "hide backfaces" or "show backfaces". did you try that yet?
