Well, for a lot of us who don't have to get up at 6am, postponing that morning light for an hour in winter would help keep our bodies better in sync. Human physiology is precisely why switching between the two is disruptive -- but keeping DST would be perfectly acceptable for most people.

How about keeping it all year long? You could also have long winter afternoons.

It is a fun way of learning programming, and you don't need to install any build toolchains. Everyone already has a web browser.

Also it is the closest to what we had back in the day with things like QBasic or Logo: you can programmatically draw and animate stuff on a canvas without setting up a complex graphics library. Throw on some GUI elements, make a little game, and just refresh the page to see it working.
