Food Not Bombs flyer for El Paso, Texas. Describes FNB as: a non-profit org that uses free meals to protest food waste in the United States. They aim to combat food deserts, which leave many lower income communities without access to healthy, nutritious food, by serving free meals to anyone in need or seeking a warm meal. Join us at Houston Park to help volunteer. If bringing food, please make sure it's vegan or vegetarian (for food safety reasons.) Today's meal share was a lesson in being water- stay adaptable, work with what you have, and lean on each other for support! Today's FNB was not easy but we pulled it together just in time, and had a great time meeting more of our neighbors. We will be moving the meals to 6:30pm to avoid the heat.
Assorted coolers, insulated bags, and totes set up on a rock wall beneath a shade tree at a public park. There is a food not bombs flyer on the blue cooler. Community member who came for a plate and brought us some toiletries to share with other neighbors. Thank you!

Our first community meal was a success!

Saturday the 24th we launched our first FNB effort. We ran behind schedule, but we made it! Apologies, community, but now we know better for next time! And there WILL be a next time! Next Saturday, to be exact! Saturday the 31st, at Houston Park from 1-3.
Cups of chopped up watermelon chilling in a cooler full of ice Trays of beans, rice, and warmed tortillas set out for our burrito assembly line!
