1. it's not like it hasn't existed historically for others and 2. I recognize that there are contributing factors that aren't strictly their own but once you see the 50th variation of a meme that's about how death awaits ppl who hit 25y.o. I think the evidence begins to enter "empirical" territory

what I WILL say is that being on the outside has made navigating the FGC feel alienating as of late, which, wah-wah I know, SF6 player isn't the center of attention right now, but still you can't help but comment on how this new-but-also-not giant looming over legacy series' like SF or GG feels off

me personally, I have, let's call it a "muted" interest in the game, and everything I know about riot makes me think they're at least uniquely evil, but also I'm far from the most consistent about staying away from products made by "bad" companies so I dunno I guess I could potentially be converted

I'm not even going to necessarily make the correlation that "the fgc hates 2xko and these channels are selling out" or whatever but I do have to wonder like. when this game inevitably becomes a "staple" of tourneys, do the people that go to historically marvel/SF/Arcsys CCs for that stuff "convert"

the flat presentation of this list does not even begin to describe just how fierce the fight between Y:LAD and 6 is. 2 very different games that paradoxically are forced to exist very close to each other in my mind and I won't be surprised if I go in and swap them like 30 times

I did do the sotenbori arena all the way through but that was mostly just because I just switched Ichi & Zhao's jobs around, other than that I didn't really grind that much

truth is, I don't know! I've been spending parts of my days with him and my family and the other time I've been playing marathon sessions of Yakuza to keep my mind off things because I'm useless productivity-wise rn.

after a few days of that though I'm gonna try to start being a human again, lol

but to give some background my parents and I have a great relationship, which I'm grateful for, so this has been a lot to handle. I hate being silent but I knew if I spoke w/ what little info I had prior to today I'd have to navigate questions like "are you/is he okay?" with no honest answer

he has a consultation appointment with a surgeon on wednesday next week so that's when things like staging/recovery/outlook will be more readily available info. until then it's just impatiently waiting

without throwing my dad's whole business on the internet I'll say that the type of cancer is on the easier end, if it's discovered that the tumor is the only cancerous space then it's fully curable with surgery, the worst case is still bad obvs but it's leaning towards that being an unlikely extreme
