I think it was political. 1. There has been steady bike infrastructure progress under Bruce. 2. Katie is likely to win and progress likely to continue. 3. IF Bruce wins, his well known vindictive nature could hurt bike infrastructure progress as he takes trumpian revenge on bikes for no endorsement

The constant ungraciousness of Harrell’s personality and style will help do him in. His refusal to acknowledge the humanity and good work of Wilson. It’s likely a strategy, but man, it comes easy to him.
