Then I took the train 133 for the 30 minute ride to Vientiane
The cost of this trip:
120 baht Nong Khai - Vientiane (2nd class seat)
2350 baht Vientiane - Nong Khai (1st class cabin, solo)
So about £58... Similar to a decent hotel

A better option for me than the train 133 which leaves an hour later from Bangkok (no first class, more basic carriages)
I arrived in Nong Khai at 6:30am after decent sleep
Coffee at the station, stretched my legs and had the exit stamp in my passport 🇱🇦🇹🇭

Smooth arrival at BKK
Bought a train ticket while waiting for passport control and heading into town
If you are still peckish after your flight check this food court on the LB level

The @metrotram_qa is budget friendly:
ride 2 QAR (£0.40) and daily cap at 6 QAR (£1.26)
And even if you want to "splash out" on the Goldclub premium class the daily cap is 30 QAR (£6.30)
