Cherry blossoms, a feast for the eyes! And, a gentle reminder that nature can take me down with a wisp of pollen. 🤧😷😅
These ornamental cherry blossoms are pink. Each delicate flower has 5 petals, lasting 4-5 days long. A sudden gust can catch the petals, tossing them around like a pink snowstorm. Japan has some lovely songs about their spring beauty. I will try to add one at a later date.

Trilliums are blooming 😍
Native Western Trilliums are in the Lily Family. They have 3 petals and 3 sepals. The flowers white and reflective in the moonlight. The 3 leaves (not true leaves) are smooth and have a lush yellow green color. The symbolism of the 3, is used in Christianity to refer to the Holy Trinity. The Father, The Son, and The Holy Spirit.

Fuzzy neighbors are busy working in the yard today.
I think this little sister is a Black tail bumble bee, Bombus melanopygus pollinating a bright pink heath.
Possibly a Black tail bumble bee, Bombus melanopygus. The color pattern is a soft yellow, orange, with a black butt. The plant is a bright pink heath. The flowers tiny and bell shaped.

Favorite pnw view (August)
Sunny August morning. A winding forest trail ends at the perfect viewpoint. The Salish Sea is calm, and wisps of fog are melting away as the summer sun rises. There's seastack that can be explored at low tide.

Lovely Day in May. Large ferry vessel that carries both walk-on passengers and vehicles. The waters are calm, and steely blue in color. Hints of rose appear in blue sky as the sun will be setting soon.

Found a little pot of gold on a forest walk (September).
Scrambled egg slime or dog vomit slime mold (fuligo septica). 😊
This slime mold is growing on rotten wood and feels soft. It's bright yellow in color and looks like fluffs of scrambled eggs.

White Coral Mushroom
Unsure of the species, but a fun find.
This White Coral Mushroom has multiple branches and is 3 inches tall. It's growing on the ground. Located near several trees (douglas fir, cedar, maple, and vine maples). Texture is sturdy and almost like plastic-like.
