Cleo the #clerodendrumthomsoniae now on month 6 of blooming. All her flowers are now turning from white to pink, with fruits forming and popping open to show off some gorgeous bright orange seeds. They eventually dry and turn shiny black. I have a few seeds now, but haven’t tried to sprout any.

Yesterday’s walkabout amazing discovery!!! My first ever sighting of an elegant piperia, a species of wild orchid. I’m so pleased!! Found in Cadboro Bay area of Victoria, BC.

This past Sunday we went for a stroll around Beaver Lake, and spotted this CRAZY oyster mushroom bloom. There was a large fallen tree, and the whole length of it was covered from root to tip!! Part 2 #fungifriends #pacificnorthwest #vancouverisland

As seen on Gonzales beach, after a storm last week. Lots of kelp uprooted on the beach, and tons of these little egg sac? droplets with something inside. I’m not totally sure what they are. It seems to make sense that it’s some sort of ocean creature that laid eggs on the uprooted kelp?
