That’s the Savoy in Notts isn’t it? Was a staple of my uni days, good to see it’s still going. And just round the corner from the Marcus Garvey, where Fugazi played a couple of times!

Also saw the Messthetics in a tiny venue a few years ago. Brendan was setting up his kit a few feet in front of me and I was like a giddy kid. Said hello to him and Joe afterwards and shook their hands. I never fanboy out, but sometimes you have to.

Nottingham 92 (thought it was 91 till I just checked the FLS page, hence my 34 years comment - it’s only 33 so I must still be young) and Exeter 2002, just before the final London shows. Both outstanding, amazing gigs!

I was at this one. Probably the worst of the shows I saw, but let’s face it, even a middling Fugazi show is a good time compared to most others

You’ve reminded me that the back material in F&V is largely a massive go at Mary Hemingway, and that the book I was impressed by was the F Scott Fitzgerald one, so it must have been Going Home I was thinking of…it’ll happen to you when you get to my age….
