Mom. Twitter refugee. Boomer retired from aerospace and from flight instructing. Over-committed volunteer trying to cut back. Who I am called to be at this moment in history? Finding joy in friends, family, camping, music, murder mysteries, and good food.
I remember noticing this when the emails were recently made public. "At last -- real evidence! From a man!"

Dogs are pretty cool, too. Mine wags furiously at any indication she's going to get what she asked for. Oh, good, you understand that I asked to go outside? Awesome!

I've been a big fan of yours since I first discovered Europe Through the Back Door. And now this! Wow!

I already have a browser extension that replaces his face with kittens. It makes reading the news so much less stressful.

We did fractions in fifth grade and percentages in sixth. This would have been a word problem we were expected solve at 11 years old.

The poor and vulnerable made possible the entry of so many women into the better-paid workforce. Most of the women professionals I know have depended on hired help to manage the household -- housekeepers, gardeners, nannies -- and they are often immigrants. I sure did!

Certainly plausible.

Sometimes we worry that those purged will be replaced by someone even worse. However, that depends on having a good supply of people who are even worse.

Fun survey. Still pondering my response to ducks and horses.

But don't worry, they will also inherit the last of the COVID toilet paper.

I'll never take the sunshine for granted ever again! I promise to walk the dog in our local State Park every single day.

I'm visiting my son in Vermont. It's lovely and cozy to look out at the snow falling, but I have no desire to go out in it. Tomorrow I fly back to LA, where it's sunny and the high will be 65. Not sorry!

The boomers are retired, and we have control of our time. We also remember a time when government did better. If younger generations just be sure to vote, that'll be great.

It's like two extremes. The women who are amazing just get more amazing. Nancy Pelosi was the leader of the House Democrats from 2003 to 2023, and Speaker during eight of those years. Meanwhile, and I do mean "mean," we have the cruelty of Kristi Noem and others.

I sometimes think one part of our trouble is that we were never a monarchy, so we've never had a queen. England had Victoria and two Elizabeths, so it's in their DNA to know that a female head of state is normal.

Well, Deep Throat was the source for Woodward and Bernstein. And he didn't blow the story open out of patriotism. He was angry about not getting a promotion. I'll take good actions for flawed and self-serving reasons any day. I won't give her blanket trust (duh!), but I'm grateful for this support.

Politics makes strange bedfellows indeed. If she can be an ally for something we all want, I'm good with it.

OMG yes this! I got out to dinner and the theater last night in light rain. I decided to stay inside today and it's driving me nuts.

"Liberals yawned and rolled their eyes"???? Hello????

What must it be like to have such an inexhaustible hunger for more than you'll ever need, while having no sense of common humanity with the rest of us? I can't even imagine it.

That's actually slow. Trump always has a new plan ready for release in two weeks.

Oh, I was born in 1951. My son was born in 1987. I faced 1/10 the risk of dying in childbirth that my mother faced.

When I was first driving, people would talk about a "cheap little foreign car" that fell apart at 70K miles. Now my Prius has 100K and my Toyota Sienna van has 210K miles and they both run fine. Oh, and I can put gas in those vehicles using a credit card in my own name, without a male co-signer.

Traveling the Wednesday eight days before Thanksgiving. I'll make sure I have a couple of days' worth of clothing and supplies in my carry-on. Sigh. (Democratic House -- stay strong and don't cave!)

Thank you for this. From your talks with those present, is it true that RFK Jr fled the room? Or was he removed by security? Also, social media showed Trump aloof and unconcerned. Are those photos correct or manipulated?
