Yes but I also learned last night how to tie off and add in new thread! Found waxing the last 6 inches of it also stopped it from constantly twisting and knotting.

I have found that already too. I played with a bunch of threads and crochet yarns to see how tension and whatnot is. I agree, much less fiddly. Also, find I understand it easier too, if that makes sense.
