I think intentionally misrepresenting an entire species as better than they are applies for sure. I think you'll be hard pressed to find any more usuable examples

An argument can certainly be made (and is in this video youtu.be/uFI5WpK2sgg?...) for things sent into space in an attempt to contact aliens. It's not like there were images of violence, famine, or death on Voyager's golden record despite them being quite common here
