Sometimes I drop an earphone, and it opens up like an oyster shell, revealing its insides. They look a little different, of course (but who knows...).

Once, as I was falling asleep, in a flash of inexplicable lucidity, I felt I was no longer the person I had been mere days ago. I thought I would forget it by morning, just like thousands of other night-time thoughts. Yet, the echo of that feeling lingered and slowly faded over the following days.

Reinforced concrete was invented by a French gardener because the roots of palm trees were so powerful that they broke all the tubs available to him. Simple cement was too brittle, but with the addition of metal reinforcement it was surprisingly strong.
