I was bassbonegal on the birdy site as I joined there during an unfortunate (and short - lived) experiment. I play flugel horn.
This is working in our house, FYI.

I have a sign on our door but it doesn't deter them all, unfortunately. I do say "not interested, thanks" instead of what I really want to say which involves expletives and talking about lack of ability to read signs. After all, they know where I live!

I was going to fill it in but it's only for people that grew up here. I'll encourage the other half to do so instead!

We have a Panasonic one, it used to be the gold standard, it's about 20 years old and has been used a lot over the years. If you're making loaves it's grand, but for rolls or French sticks you have to then shape, prove again and bake. There might be other brands that are better now.

We use YouTube music, but we also have the no ads thing for videos (this is so worth it especially if you have kids) so it's probably not cheaper than Spotify.

When I lived in Glasgow there used to be a boat on the river in the city centre that held ceilidhs every weekend. I went to a few, it was fun. The boat never left the moorings.

That sounds lovely, shame it had to stop.

Aye!

I like this. Personally as a "blow-in" that just hasn't gotten around to naturalising I can't vote in this one, so I have to hope and trust that everyone with the vote will exercise their right. Fingers crossed that whichever candidate is successful is anywhere near as good as Michael D.

My gp does them too but I got a more convenient appointment at my local pharmacy too.

I'd never heard it before and I understood what he meant by it. It's quite nice to come across new phrases even after being here so many years.

Do the public have any way of finding out whether any councillors back a candidate, even if their bid for a spot on the ballot is unsuccessful?

I think a potential problem with this is that if it doesn't recognise the barcode then it will eat the can/bottle without paying out. At the moment you get a chance to rotate the item and try again (have found this happening quite often myself). Maybe an additional lane for non return items instead?

I did the same! Mine was 90g. I also have other (Dunnes) spinach in the fridge but think I'm not going to chance it just in case it gets added on to the list like the SuperValu one.

I'm learning French on the same app. I resent having to translate film to movie, football match to soccer game, cinema to movie theater, and so on. Those are all perfectly correct English words and don't need translating to US equivalents.

I followed thinking it was great to see a woman my own age, then I remembered I'm gen x. Oops! Looking forward to having a watch sometime

Aye, I wanted to make it a few years ago but wasn't in a positon to.

Omg thank you, randomly came across this post, I was looking for that pattern earlier in the week but forgot what it was called. Favouriting it this time

I had an argument with a very rude guy on the DART that got on with a lit cigarette. I called him out for it and he yelled in my face "I'm on the phone, you're being rude" but somehow I stood my ground. Was very glad when he got off at his stop and didn't follow me home!

When I first moved here from Scotland it was just after the indoor smoking ban came into effect here, and before there was one over there. I was delighted! Still hate walking through a wall of smokers to get into buildings, or behind one on the street, but at least most indoor spaces are safe now.

I'd love one really, it looks cute.

I think for mostly town/city driving, that makes the Ami better as it has a passenger seat. If only it wasn't taxed as a car...

Solitaire is all full of ads now, with a subscription to remove them. I uninstalled it because of this.

We are fortunate here - there are schools (both primary and secondary) in our area that are non religious. I don't think I would have handled the catholic school thing well. The secondary school our teen is at now is over-subscribed, again we were lucky to get a place. I hope she had a good day.
