But the part of the message that made me wince and made me post was people saying that all Labour voters are automatically racists and fascists and I think that's going too far.

Not only do I care about the wellbeing of refugees but I attended a Refugees Welcome event at the weekend. I am 100% pro-refugees. I posted originally cause I saw a few posts saying roughly the same thing. I'm seeing a lot more now and I may have been wrong about it being coordinated.

I support the people pointing out the racism of the policy. I agree with letting the Labour government know they disagree with the policy. Not with those saying that Labour voters are automatically racists.
November 17, 2025 at 12:16 PM
Arguably agree with that. The part I have a problem with is those who say all Labour voters are automatically racists if they don't immediately quit the party and publicly criticize the government over these policies.

I'm deleting this post because it seems like many people over-read it and incorrectly assumed my views on something as a result. Just to be clear I don't like the new immigration policies and I agree that we should express out views about them. But not that being a Labour voter makes you a racist.

We will make far more progress in getting change by collectively letting them know we disagree with the policy than by fighting among ourselves.
November 17, 2025 at 11:45 AM
You, like many others, have over read what i wrote and assumed my opinions. I loathe these new home office policies. I just don’t think that what the home office says makes the rest of us racists and fascists. Name calling won’t fix this. We have to put pressure on the government to change course.
November 17, 2025 at 11:45 AM
And yet that is how it does work. Perhaps if we had PR it might work differently. Perhaps not. I would prefer that all politicians were at liberty to vote and speak with their conscience. But that isn’t the current reality.
November 17, 2025 at 11:38 AM
So you are contending that Starmer himself is coordinating people to put out a message saying that Labour voters are racists and fascists?

You’ll forgive me if I don’t find that very credible.
November 17, 2025 at 11:36 AM
Like what exactly?
November 17, 2025 at 11:35 AM
And before you all go in the attack and assume I’m an anti semite you might consider asking me me views on the policies that sparked this argument.
November 17, 2025 at 11:34 AM
Wow you’re going way too far. I said I saw maybe 3 posts with very similar messaging and wondered if they were connected. That’s the extent of my conspiracy theory. Talk about massive over-reading.
November 17, 2025 at 11:33 AM
This is very interesting. Is it the plan now that whenever someone criticises Polanski‘s self described populist approach that the critic will be labelled anti semitic? That’s the kind of thing that far left of Labour used to do in the pursuit of ideological purity. Are those now batting for green?
November 17, 2025 at 11:28 AM
Wow. Why does everyone assume that I agree with these policies? I do not. I think they’re wrong and potentially racist and I loathe the sense that they are pandering again to the far right. But I don’t think that makes all Labour voters and parliamentarians racists or fascists.
November 17, 2025 at 11:23 AM
You have made no effort to discern my opinion on the latest announcement on immigration policy. You assume and you attack. You are wrong.
November 17, 2025 at 11:20 AM
It’s not that simple for an MP. They may speak out against it behind closed doors but probably won’t in public. The parliamentary party needs to work together to govern. But the home office should have sought buy in from the MPs as well before announcing something so controversial.
November 17, 2025 at 11:18 AM
It is quite possible to say that these specific policies are wrong or racist without saying that the whole of the Labour Party and their voters are racist, or fascist.
November 17, 2025 at 11:15 AM
For what it’s worth I hate the new immigration policies. They are pandering to the far right again and this needs to stop. But I was saying that a consistency of messaging in several posts made me suspicious that some group was trying to get an anti Labour message trending.
November 17, 2025 at 11:14 AM
I agree with all of that but what has it to do with what I wrote?
November 17, 2025 at 11:11 AM
Feel free to quiz me. I saw several posts with messaging that seemed broadly the same and it made me wonder if there was an organized effort to spread that message. We saw this all the time on twitter. Have I said something problematic?
November 17, 2025 at 11:09 AM
That looks and sounds delicious but taking my cheese away is going a step too far. You can prise the cheese from my cold dead hands!

Just do a search for “Labour Racist”
November 16, 2025 at 7:55 PM
It’s not just him. I’ve seen a couple of others posting very similar messages. One was “chiller” or something. I unfollowed and blocked them.
