As it now looks like reveals are going to be over for a bit, I'm continuing my series of "making a fool of myself by trying to guess the stats and abilities of newly revealed Pokemon / forms" that everyone loves. Megas happen to be my favorite to guess due to there being an obvious pattern to stats.

Just noticed another unused flag in the list after the Zebetite and Escape flags, "AFROHAKKEN".
There's an unused graphic in the debug tileset with the writing "Afloraltite Energy," this would likely have been the flag for discovering some (アフロ発見), whatever that would have entailed.

The RS localization glossary files have been fully translated, teaching us such things like Brendan/Yuuki's original name being Sora (presumably changed after a certain March 2002 release) and the ending of Pacifidlog having "gold" backwards:

Yup, this lines up with the DSXY_KIN files. Route 44 connected to Blackthorn directly and the Ice Path was connected to both caves in it. Sadly no map files themselves from that time, but this is enough evidence.

Earlier on, Silver's later parties' default names weren't "???" but were instead Red, Green, and Blue (presumably because he was still named in the intro). What's interesting is that their Starter types match the art with the three of them (Red = Grass, Green JP = Fire, and Blue JP = Water).

Regular Pokemon fleeing in GSC is a strange enough feature already, but after looking at the table meant for the original Love Ball's effect (Kurt's favorites), I think this table also still accidentally uses SW97 numbers due to age as well:

It seems like Nishida did draw her own version of Poliwag as well despite it already existing in the 1990 batch, and Magneton also appears at slot 140 despite existing earlier too, so that might cover the Paras slot.

League B3F, the S.S. Anne floor, seems to be based on the lategame water encounters that were themselves also removed later, however some slots are a little different and every Starmie slot is... Ekans?

With the Center being T21R0601, this makes the placement of the next two (Bird and older Guide Gent's house) a mystery. The Center is the last warp in both versions and got R06 from the Nov. 98 version. Bird might be behind the cut tree and Guide might be the one with the sign.

I was looking through the Crystal files from the leak with the group, this might explain something. It looks like whoever gave the towns their colors in the game might have worked backwards without knowing Lake of Rage was still a town, Mahogany was planned to be red and Cianwood to be green.

As HiResPokemon also pointed out, the name "Kirlia" might have also been intended for this version. Kirlia's name was once "Psyō" but that stage was also using default 60 stats, implying it had just been added. Looking at Kirlian photography, there is definitely a resemblance to the concept art.

Psycho Dog may have been more developed before being replaced by Ralts than thought. Its learnset has odd moves such as Growl and Double Team (Ralts is the only Human-like Pokemon to ever get Growl), Imprison and Future Sight also make sense for a possible reference to the Hounds of Tindalos.

Psycho Dog may have been more developed before being replaced by Ralts than thought. Its learnset has odd moves such as Growl and Double Team (Ralts is the only Human-like Pokemon to ever get Growl), Imprison and Future Sight also make sense for a possible reference to the Hounds of Tindalos.
Togepi's early cards (May 99, Feb 00) imply it used poison (the Dex entry appearing as its Silver entry from Aug 01-17 99).
With Poison Barb sharing the same Japanese name as Poison Point, one wonders if there's some connection to Togepyon in RS (revisiting an idea at most, it's a hedgehog).
