Social media too often makes me unhappy because there is so much hate and negativity.
Since joining BlueSky I can safely say it is the opposite.
Instead I am witnessing intellectual debate and respectful disagreement. I am also learning. This is what all social media should aspire to.

I just learned that Goodreads is owned by Jeff Bezos. An alternative is StoryGraph, a Black woman-owned platform (and yes it's really easy to transfer your lists from Goodreads to StoryGraph). You know, while we're moving things.
