There's only Cobs. MePhone doesn’t have anyone else. And Cobs knows that. So he offers a hand, makes it seem as though this can all just be put behind them, and leads him back to where they started.

Additionally there's a lot of dialogue from Cobs that reads as him just trying to get MePhone to move on. The reason why the show was so significant was because it also helped MePhone gain other connections, other people he could lean on (kinda), but now none of them are left.

A few times Cobs offers MePhone physical affection by, say, putting his hand on MePhone's shoulder or taking his hand to pull him along. It reads to me as a sort of faux-affection that MePhone wants, but for real.

The way Cobs talks to MePhone is in a more infantilizing, almost belittling way, like he's smaller and just a child. Even his physical actions reflect this, like how he kneels down to talk to MePhone.

The first thing I noticed in the new clips was how small MePhone was in comparison to Cobs, which actually is also similar to the amount of control the two have.
Cobs is larger = has more control
MePhone is smaller = has less control
