For context, when I say they went silent, they WENT SILENT. I was one of the contributors.
There were no "we're stopping development for X reason" notices on their server, and to this day their repo still states its being actively developed despite there not being a commit since 2023

The company internally decided to go silent on everyone contributing to the project on top of pulling out all of the AppLovin developers they assigned to work on it, which is unacceptable for an open-source project, especially one that is corporate-backed -[2/3]

I think Godot's UX is good, I personally still use and love the engine but the worst part is the node system xD
I really think engines should be going more towards using ECS or Unity-like GameObject composition

luckily it was a friend who got it, but this started because they donated on Ko-Fi
if they didn't donate and tell me, its likely actual donators in the future would've seen it and I wouldn't have known until it was too late

I use a browser called Vivaldi which happens to use Chromium, and I was completely unable of downloading a file with it because it kept being marked as a virus by the browser. Even when the Google safe net thing was off
I then had to wrestle with Windows defender to let it through
