The age of the universe is measured using the variable form of Hubble’s Law, and against the apparent age of the oldest bodies. The Milky Way is thought to be 13.6 b yrs old, the universe 13.7 b (this is up for major debate thanks to WEBB, because claims are never accepted without proof in science)

Oh I know I’m biting off a several-year project with this one; it’s one of passion, though. And the NPC logic is central, a core mechanic for what I want to do, not fluff; I wanted to make a game that focuses on it!

Cool, thanks! I was talking per NPC. I’m trying to build an environment with wildlife that behaves realistically, so I’ve been creating a state for each behavior you might expect, say, a wolf to exhibit and attaching them all to a state machine for a wolf. Nothing has more than 10 (yet) though

So we could be in awe of the steep accomplishments of large teams of dedicated, well-funded artists and still give our love and adoration to the creative works of passion that a handful or even one dedicated person poured their souls into.

I feel like with the resources studios have they really are capable of making and occasionally successfully make truly amazing things. I’d love it, though, if there was maybe a bracket for smaller or low-budget games,
