Making me wanna re-read Chip Zdarsky's Daredevilllll

Said it before, I'll say it again, I need Wonder Woman to have her curly hair back, I need Wonder Woman drawn by Marco Checchetto.

Reading Archie 1955, which is basically Archie Andrews becoming an Elvis like figure, a white musician getting popular with the rise of rock and roll, and the pitfalls of both stardom and needing to navigate the racial inequities at the time.

More non superhero stuff.

Y: The Last Man
Descender (And Ascender, the sequel) by Jeff Lemire
Usagi Yojimbo by Stan Sakai (Has been going for 40 years but legitimately you can jump in whenever and it will be fine)
Fatale by Ed Brubaker and Sean Phillips
May 10, 2024 at 5:57 PM
And last are just some random non Superhero stuff for variety's sake, since there's so many creators doing so many cool things.

Sandman by Neil Gaiman (Kinda cheating, technically in Dc Universe)
Die by Kieron Gillen
The Wicked + The Divine by Kieron Gillen
Giant Days by John Allison

Dc next

DC: The New Frontier
The Dark Knight Returns
Kingdom Come (Admittedly a more Superman focused story, but it's about the wider Dc Universe as a whole, not just him)
Wonder Woman: Dead Earth

To continue the list, gonna give some stories that are COMPLETELY self contained in Marvel and DC, figuratively or literally not taking place in their main universes. Marvel first!

Spider-man: Life Story
Earth X
Vision by Tom King
Black Bolt by Saladin Ahmed

Next up is the same, but for DC.

Scott Snyder's Batman run during the New 52.
Hal Jordan and the Green Lantern Corps by Robert Venditti
Batman/Superman: World's Finest by Mark Waid (this one is the only book so far that is still going)
JLA by Grant Morrison

I forgot to get pictures last time.

I hate my friends so much

(I would die for them in a heartbeat)

I'm white, so I don't wanna presume to speak for another race, but I have a feeling that Kitty Pryde is most definitely not invited to the cookout.

We really don't talk about what an achievement Usagi Yojimbo truly is. An almost 40 year old comic that's been done almost entirely by one person that's never had a bad issue that while self referential and continuity heavy insures that any issue truly CAN be someone's first, this Rabbit is special.

Somna was powerhouse, if you're fine with a bit of NSFW.

I Heart Skullcrusher is 2 issues in and a delight.

Bolero was incredible and the writer's current work called Nights is also great.

They made a whole comic about this and men didn't listen.

I saw this every time I end up reading it (which is...a decent amount for some reason) but Schism is the best Hero v Hero event by far.

Cyclops not having a total problem with Child Soldiers since he was one vs Wolverine always being the one wanting to protect young kids from that life is perfect.

My amateur attempt at my own kinda version of "With Great Power comes Great Responsibility." or "Good isn't a thing you are, it's a thing you do." or "Without Hope. Without Witness. Without Reward." or any other soundbyte about heroism lmao.

Late night thoughts are remembering Punchline and Dr. Starline are the same character. Two proteges who agree with the mentors goals but not their methods, and specifically see their mentor's per-occupation with their rival as a weakness.

Yeah Blade Bunny is a really good comic if my other posts about it didn't convince you already. The pendulum swings between the coolest shit you've ever seen and really good character drama without them ever feeling incongruous.
May 5, 2024 at 5:55 AM
What if I told you guys Blade Bunny of all things was one of my favorite comics, what then?
May 5, 2024 at 4:00 AM
It's okay Trini I too dream of muscle mommies.
May 5, 2024 at 3:21 AM
I couldn't edit this down enough enough so here.
May 4, 2024 at 6:43 PM
As possibly the biggest Tom King fan I laugh at this every time.
May 3, 2024 at 11:10 PM
Wild how Tom King has what I consider the definitive Batman and Superman pages in my mind.
May 3, 2024 at 10:16 PM
You can't pick Spidey or Batman, who is your favorite comic book character?
May 3, 2024 at 6:52 PM
You'd be surprised what hidden gems you'll find when you just take a chance on some random shit. A comic called freaking Blade Bunny is good enough for me to be doing a re-read right now lol.
