I'm a Physical Geographer based at Newcastle University (UK) specialising in the geomorphological and sedimentary impacts of floods in a variety of environments. I have conducted fieldwork in Iceland, Chile, UK and Greenland.
That’s a wrap after 21 great years at Newcastle University! Although retired from full-time work I'll not be retiring from academia and am looking forward to working on a number of collaborative research projects.

For my inaugural post on Bluesky I thought I'd dig out some photos of ice-dammed lake drainage and jökulhlaup impacts from my PhD work at the Russell Glacier, west Greenland way back in 1987!
