@gabrielesvelto Have you ever checked the S&P500 chart? You cannot spot the dot-com bubble and subprime bubble at all, they simply disappear. What you notice is the insane growth post Pandemic. Not sure what that tells about modern economy […]

Somehow I missed how weak the US dollar has become against the Euro in the past 6 months (exchange rate went from its lowest at 1.0257 on 2025-01-10, to 1.1805 USD on 2025-07-01).
Ironic that it would make for a very cheap trip to US. If only.

Somehow I missed how weak the US dollar has become against the Euro in the past 6 months (exchange rate went from its lowest at 1.0257 on 2025-01-10, to 1.1805 USD on 2025-07-01).
Ironic that it would make for a very cheap trip to US. If only.

You can't make this shit up…
Looks like the "tariffs" showing up in Trump's tables are calculated from trade deficit / export to US, with a minimum of 10%. And only goods, not services.
Example for EU: 236/606 = 39%

Someone smart needs to explain to me the real reason to have xAI buy X, at an absurd evaluation slightly above the original one. I'm assuming it involves taxes, debt, etc.
