Sunday lunch, it's been a while since I made pancakes.

That's one very confusing way to celebrate a milestone in weight loss 🐖

@gabrielesvelto Have you ever checked the S&P500 chart? You cannot spot the dot-com bubble and subprime bubble at all, they simply disappear. What you notice is the insane growth post Pandemic. Not sure what that tells about modern economy […]

I am surrounded by very peculiar buildings. The two spheres were laboratories, the other two wind tunnels from the 30s.

Somehow I missed how weak the US dollar has become against the Euro in the past 6 months (exchange rate went from its lowest at 1.0257 on 2025-01-10, to 1.1805 USD on 2025-07-01).

Ironic that it would make for a very cheap trip to US. If only.

Source of chart […]

I'm a dog person. Never owned cats and I'm even allergic to their fur.

But this cute stray basically lives in my parents' garden (unsurprisingly, given they feed him). Scared of its own shadow, doesn't let anyone close (unless fast asleep), and I'm pretty sure […]

You can't make this shit up…

Looks like the "tariffs" showing up in Trump's tables are calculated from trade deficit / export to US, with a minimum of 10%. And only goods, not services.

Example for EU: 236/606 = 39%

Someone smart needs to explain to me the real reason to have xAI buy X, at an absurd evaluation slightly above the original one. I'm assuming it involves taxes, debt, etc.

Also, the general vibe is very Tropic Thunder.

Have you ever thought that maybe it's time to stop giving visibility to people who don't give a flying fork about any topic, and are just after clicks with their doomsday narratives?

Some videos on this list are approaching half million views. I stumbled upon […]

Not exactly hard to spot the pattern (light blue is AFD).

I'm surprised at how many votes Die Linke got in East Berlin, compared to the rest of the country.

Fun: amazon.de offers a credit card. If you click on the link to check the reviews, you end up on a page where the product is "testDE by dummyValue".

Maybe not the smart choice.

Google, WTF?

They're now trying to push Gemini via an obnoxious modal dialog (paid Google Apps account BTW).

There's a missing video on top (it plays in Chrome, broken in Firefox), and the two options are "Continue" or "Learn more"? What about "Not interested"?

Work in progress for tomorrow (in charge of desserts).

One is called "torta di tagliatelle" (as you can guess, filling is made of pasta mixed with almond and sugar), the other "gubana" (roll of puff pastry with filling made of mixed nuts, grapes, chocolate).

Last week I finally went back to San Francisco, after more than 6 years.

At first glance, it felt safer. Then I realized the problems were just pushed out of the main tourist areas.

As someone who walks around and prefer public transportation, the city still […]
