Source: ope.ed.gov/athletics/#/..., you need to search for Pitt specifically but it's all there.

Pitt sports pays for itself, and many students are only able to afford Pitt through these athletic scholarships. Maybe they should be moving money to the PhDs and running at a loss but it wouldn't be enough for the Trump Cuts, and this money is likely already allocated.

I don't even think Ezra Klein is that great but he would agree on both of your points. I really think this is an example of social media mischaracterizing an opinion which requires more nuance. The second point isn't as clear in the piece but it's a semi-necessary premise to his argument.

Also yes I'm still pissed off Trump got to claim the Obama economy as his own and blame COVID on Biden, and that both the public and MSM let him get away with that, but he can't dodge the effects of tariffs and mass deportation (i think), so this term will likely be different than the first

I think 1 and 3 are pretty likely to end up happening (unless MSM lost whatever little backbone it has left), I think 2 is the biggest question and will be the actual measure of whether the Trump cult has won or not.
We know what will happen if the Trump cult wins, but idk about if they lose

Bush Jr. had his reckoning with the Iraq war and 2008. Trump may have his own.
The main questions are if
1. MSM and general public turn on Trump b/c of his policies
2. If Trumpist media successfully hides his policy failures
3. If Trump will silence those critics with threats and use of force

I think it's worth noting Trump didn't win: Kamala lost. Trump is still an unpopular figure, despite delusions about his economic policy. Once the fantasy fades I think we're going to see a bigger social upheaval than in 2020, it's just a question of whether we're too far gone at that point

2024 was a pretty shit year and at least politics-wise 2025 is going to be a whole lot worse.
It seems pretty morbid to hope that Trump's god-awful policies break the fantasy around him b/c if his policies come into place a lot of people are going to be in far more desperate situations
