i think these types of projects are still largely limited by funding but there's good reason to believe a lot more can be done with what we currently have

money is a huge factor but the cost of getting involved in developing technology has been dropping drastically mostly in software but also in hardware

i think there's a lot of people working on this intentionally and unintentionally, making it easier for people to see what's been done and connect with others doing similar stuff (i think) could have a huge impact

i've been thinking of making something like www.gap-map.org but for cool leftist tech ideas. it would have a description of an idea and link to good research on the idea and past/existing implementations

you can actually shape how technology is developed in positive ways. you can. i know people who have. you don't have to wait for a revolution. you can just do it. you might not succeed. but its better than waiting around and complaining.
