You could theoretically buy a fleet of Teslas and equip them all with giant anti-Musk signs, but that doesn't feel like the most efficient way to achieve your goals.

The owner of the platform is explicitly using it to radicalize users. The only thing anyone is doing by staying there is legitimizing it as a "normal" social media. Nobody would advise liberals interested in dialog to sign up to Truth social.

I think "European leaders" (national leaders or comission officials?) have a general policy of ignoring US "content wars". In general, I think it is rare for countries with independent processes to have leaders justify their decisions. Did the US justify itself to Turkey over not jailing Gülen?

It's funny because this post is an example of another, completely different phenomenon, where China (here Tiktok) is acquiring soft power by sheer virtue of not being the US, especially in the west outside the US. Reminds me of a graph I saw with the popularity of China skyrocketing for gen z

Apart from all the conditions associated with the trillion dollar package, the fact that Tesla cannot sale a car outside the US any more actually means that the company value is now entirely tied to the personality cult around Musk. They have to make him stay to avoid a crash in the stock price.

When you're interacting with an LLM and it finds the cheapest tickets to Mexico for you, then book them and sends you the invoice, it's doing something very very different than making up good sounding language.

It might not be AGI but it's clearly not doing what you said either.

Step 2 is a pretty big misrepresenration of what LLMs now do.

It should be smth like Step 2: Make it so good at predicting text that it learns deep regularities underlying language, and acquires the ability to interact coherently with humans and to use all sorts of tools.

Overheating does not refer to the growth rate. The Russian economy is overheating because there is a massive labor shortage and wages and prices are growing rapidly. His point is that despite massive unsustainable investment from the state, the economy has not even grown that much.
