The extensive blocking and censorship features provided to users are deeply concerning. I fear these measures might ultimately harm, or even destroy, Bluesky's community. Some users are considering blocking others solely based on superficial criteria such as specific emojis in their profiles.

(It’s more getting in the way than helping me, so better to just get rid of it all together)

A great update on this mysterious case, 11 years later.
Sadly, we have to assume that they were too young and reckless, which led them to make a series of poor decisions.

Time to replace the ancient Bcrypt in favor of Argon2 to hash your users' passwords in your dusty Node.js server that you haven't updated in 15 years. Also throw some Post-Quantum Cryptography shit on your JWTs.

🙶GIF has audio?🙷
No, it doesn’t. Websites usually convert GIFs into GIFVs, which are essentially MP4 videos; because they’re well aware of how terrible the GIF format is: poor compression, awful quality, lousy performance... Yet, some terrorists still insist on using them.

"Rotate right" & "Rotate left" were not enough.
Now we have...
AI actions:
💩 Visual Search with Bing
💩 Blur background with Photos
💩 Erase object with Photos
💩 Remove background with Paint
I believe this qualifies as sociopathy (ASPD).

Developers falling for such obvious phishing attacks is deeply concerning... assuming it’s not a deliberate act to steal cryptoshit or just plain old stupidity / low IQ, this is a clear warning that we need to take better care of our mental health. The domain: "npmjs․help" 🤦

I wonder what psycho implemented these annoying and utterly useless notifications and failed to include an option to disable them. 😭

I made an app for Windows 11 to create custom commands in the modern context menu and enable/disable commands from other packages. It was inevitably made with WinUI (a buggy sluggish POS)... and C++ is used for the Shell extension (see attached image; they know).

I'd love to see support for basic Markdown (hyperlinks, headings, bold, italic, strikethrough, inline code, code blocks, text quoting, tables, lists), a higher character limit (≥2000), polls, uniform emoji rendering, and integration with the new built-in AI APIs (e.g. for fast local translation).

📒 ¿Ya le has echado un ojo a Temporal API?

✨ Si estás cansado del `new Date()` (y sus peculiaridades), será su reemplazo.
✨ Zonas horarias, miliseg, microseg... ¡y nanoseg!
✨ Bisiestos, días del mes... ¡hasta desfase horario!
✨ Sumar o restar tiempo, comparar fechas...
🟥 De momento, sólo en Firefox

"You should avoid using SMS texts to receive 2FA codes, as threat actors can conduct SIM-swapping attacks [...]"

Yet, major companies recommend/require enabling SMS-based 2FA, stupid recovery codes that can’t be disabled, and multiple redundant authentication methods. 🤡

In Google Chrome, «Intl» defaults to the browser's UI language, not the topmost language in the user's list of preferred languages. It seems that specifying «navigator.language» is more appropriate to show the user when formatting a date.

Two new features for the HTML color input!

- an alpha attribute, allowing the user to select a translucent color.

- a colorspace attribute, allowing the author to choose between srgb and display-p3.

With either attribute present the value is a CSS color function instead of hex. Try it in STP 207!
