Freehand #sashiko -ish embroidery is my new crafting obsession! Several long conference calls in the past week were sweetened by repetitive running stitches. Many crossovers with watercolor - from subtle color blends to iterative lines creating meaning. 🖌️🪡

Blissfully experiencing the performer version of "someone else canceled our plans so I get to stay home" - which is that the festival I'm producing a 🎪🌸🤸♀️ show at shifted to its rain date so today I am reading a book & eating cake on the couch. Tomorrow, trapeze and cherry blossoms!

Yesterday I accidentally left my work ID at home, which meant I needed to politely ask someone else to let me in and out of every single space, like a cat. Today I am absolutely DRIPPING with autonomy 🪪💪

Lotta recent homemade bread! This is no-knead whole wheat plus a few T of milled flax seed for extra protein/fiber ✨ and generous "everything bagel" seasoning. Extra long rise plus a couple stretch & folds. My prior experience is all sourdough so I am loving the pick-up-game ease of commerical yeast

Library school class required me to create a trifold brochure about anything at all (!) so I chose artists' books, my favorite collection! To be clear, these texts are all real but the events are all fake - enjoying my brief stint as director of imaginary programming at the #kislakcenter

I'm having a good curl day and an even better social one - E and I visited a friend from school, I got to paint for two hours and hang out with cool adults in their color-filled Victorian while the kids did messy creative play. 💯 Sunday

Challenging jewel-box of a day included teaching three lessons, taking one, and the cardio-protein-TENS-rest hamster wheel of rigorously gentle care for my fresh injuries. I am so lucky and so devastated.

I've been in a nest of post-viral fatigue but today I triumphantly painted my cute trapeze student AND went grocery shopping where I was rewarded w this pastel gradient sky above the Aldi parking lot 💕
