So a little update. My assumption was wrong according to the interview that TrainerTips had with Niantic's (now ex) Senior Product Director. It's been steadily growing for a few years now. He believes that not a whole lot will change monetarily.

The fact that Niantic sold it off makes me think that it wasn't turning much of a monetary value. I think Niantic only did anything with it because they wanted the geospatial data. If all the tickets they were pumping out wasn't enough, there's gonna be so much more I think.

From what I know, Savvy Games Group (Saudi's video game investment department) purchased GO for $3.5B. The Dev team for GO will now include Go's current dev team and Savvy's dev team called Scopely.
Scopely's other games are littered with microtransactions and that's getting people worried.

I have a decent sized community and we organised a week prior and today ended up getting around 20 people for Gmax raids. Failed 3 and everyone gave up. People are very frustrated
