Calogaya pusilla is a common lichen from the Teloschistaceae family. Widely spread, this orange yellow coloured lichen thrives on stone surfaces and lives in happy harmony with the algae pseudotrebouxia. My picture. I discovered this sample on a stone pillar during a walk in a park in Ghent.

We found the Calogaya decipiens or stoffige citroenkorst (literally dusty lemon crust) 🍋 on a stone pillar in a park in Ghent during an excursion with fellow litchen enthousiasts. Slowest walk ever. Litchen are everywhere in the city. Small micro worlds paving a way for the complexity of life. 🌱
