actually, the 2023 one in that post is from october 2023. This one is the final version including everything through december 2023.

Extras a) idk why i feel compelled to post about this. its an important accomplishment for me but in the grand scheme of things it doesn't matter
b) Despite their niche infamy these maps are extremely underappreciated
c) You may recognize snow irony as a map that Zylice has played on a few occasions

9/9 After that, only bath room remained. bath room has by far the hardest pattern processing of the three. snow irony and faithlessness's leaderboards are both full of FCs, but bath room has a total of 19, including the first ever EZHD FC that I got on December 15th.

8/9 I took a break from grinds like this after that, but I knew I would come back to conquer the other two eventually. That time started last month, when I sat down to add faithlessness to my accomplishments. This map already had an SS, so I wasn't the first, but I made it happen on November 16th.

7/9 On March 9th, I sat down, made practice diffs, learned the parts that were giving me trouble, and started the grind. It paid off the next day when I set the first ever EZHD FC on snow irony.

6/9 This was my entire goal when I started the grind in November of 2023. The map didn't have an EZHD FC, and I thought it would be fun to go for. I put in attempts sparingly for a while, but didn't take it super seriously. Come March, I shifted my priorities and committed to taking snow irony down.

5/9 In my opinion, the natural extension of low ar reading as a skillset is to play with both the Easy and Hidden mods to increase the reading difficulty of a map as much as possible. Thus, I began grinding snow irony EZHD with the intent to eventually FC it.

4/9 While participating in this tournament I learned to love low ar reading as a skillset. As the months after that tournament progressed, I became enamored with playing snow irony with EZ mod for fun. It was also in this period that I discovered faithlessness and my goal started to take shape.

3/9 In the summer of 2023, I played in my first osu tournament, a private Suiji-style tournament called SSH2. snow irony was pooled in the finals round, and to my surprise i dominated the field on this weird map. In the next round, bath room was pooled and a very similar situation happened.

2/9 newton's set of pattern-based reading gimmick maps for songs by the artist Maison book girl is infamous among niche groups of osu players. faithlessness, snow irony, and bath room are AR6 maps that feature heavy use of dense patterns following the repetitive structure of Maison book girl's music

congrats! you're well on your way to becoming an osu rhythm champion!

yes. its unintuitive, but accuracy does play a part in the calculations for aim and speed. what that part is is unknown to me (i can't parse the code) but it is there
October 19, 2024 at 10:42 PM
oh good point i think i forgot that one
