Yeah, unfortunately the high price is mostly the buy-in to right-to-repair and reducing e-waste. They can't compete at lower processes since they aren't producing at the same scale as giants like Windows :(

Honestly, knowing how drawing programs are, you might want to get the best CPU available and move up to 32gb, if your budget can allow.

Haven't tried a stylus, but I haven't seen any sort of stutter or struggle from the CPU myself - I added another 8gb of RAM for a total of 16gb.

I can't speak to the art bit, but I use my Framework 12 for gaming and game development and LOVE it. I absolutely love being in control of my right to repair. I recently replaced my mainboard and the process was smooth and well-documented.
