When I was graduating from my engineering degree in mid 2000s lidar required prohibitively fast processing power and receiver quality, but we derived the characteristic functions for it in our tutorials. Now the average Raspberry pi could handle (low speed) lidar. Tesla claims never made sense.

For inking you should probably steer clear of blade / knife tips - they’re versatile and make for nice writing but difficult to maintain the same line weight with. Possibly try some flex nibs - more pressure = wider line, though they can be very wet and you’ll need thirsty paper to avoid bleed.

I don’t use them for inking but I’ve had good experience with Hongdian (I have an M2 with fine ball nib and Black Forest with a blade nib), Kaweco sport (Chonky!) and a Pilot Prera which took some fiddling but is a handy test pen.

You might also have to experiment with different ink/nib combos.

Gentle question @davemilbo.bsky.social, is Nuada still a going concern? Beneath the Swamp was a ripper album. Haven’t heard anything in a few years so I figured covid must’ve done you guys over.

Guess I’ll be repping one of Karnivool, Tumbleweed, Paul Dempsey or Josh Pyke - all that remains of my once mighty Aussie band merch collection after the move to Ireland.

Sadly I don’t have a Triple Kill hoody otherwise that would be confusing my colleagues today.

Nowhere near most of East Asia anyway. Lots of central and Western Europe still bobbling along on ancient copper. USA is a shambles and internet access v expensive. Big cities in South America are connected but rural access still poor.

But installing 150,000km of fresh copper was epically dumb.

Last time the LNP talked about being technology agnostic they set back Australia’s telecommunications infrastructure by 15 years with their dumbass multi technology mix NBN plan.

The self-assured centrist. Extremely basic, out of their depth in a car park puddle, genuinely considers The Project to be incisive journalism, politically stands for nothing because I’m getting by just fine thanks very much.

You wouldn’t generally mind if they weren’t easily led by propaganda.
