Too many films, not enough time.

Curiouser and curiouser!

The Abyss is now on Disney+ UK in 4K.

Park Road Post Production thanked in the credits for the 4k remaster.

Even curiouser it's the theatrical version not the Special Edition.

Curiouser still it includes the infamous rat scene banned in the UK.

Utterly, remarkable. Echoes of Malick, Le Jette, Peep Show and countless other influences beyond me.

Over a hundred years of cinema and this feels brand new.

An indescribable work of art.

RaMell Ross is a giant whose shoulders others will stand on.

Watch it. And then watch it again.

This sent me down a rabbit hole! I vividly remember seeing the scene as a kid but definitely no blood. Turns out it was edited out of the television version. Apparently the animated blood was added because the filmmakers couldn't get the practical effect to work.

Exactly. This reminds me Roger Ebert's oft-quoted "... movies are like a machine that generates". His entire speech really nails it.

It may be the least Lynchian but I bloody love The Straight Story.

I don't disagree, a wonderful performance.

Have you seen the Simon Callow one man rendition of A Christmas Carol?

It's simply magical.
