Last of the proper range rovers, I daily drove one for a while and loved it. Ropey as hell but it didn't give me much grief, contrary to what people would have you believe.

Look what happened to Browns lane, absolute sacrilege. I'd hazard a guess the same fate awaits Longbridge

I'm nowhere near middle class enough to even know what that is, or what to do with it.

I see you've also been visited by the shouty green bastards

I see way more P38s on the road than early L322s. I daily drove a P38 for a while and had no major trouble with it, and it wasn't exactly well looked after. I think they get an unfair reputation, every common problem is pretty easily fixed nowadays with basic hand tools because its an old Land Rover

Always wanted one, ideally a late soft dash with air suspension. Prices are still a bit out of my reach though. I daily drove a 4.6 P38 for a while and loved it, can definitely understand why people drive rangies.

P38 Range Rovers had one too, definitely made it easier getting the wheel out when it's at waist height

I'm still rocking an XZ Premium, best phone I've ever had. Showing its age now so will probably get a cheap 1 V once the VII launches, can't understand why they moved away from 4k screens on their flagships.

I'd be up for it

Or, rear fog light. You can't even flash them to let them know because they'll have no clue what you're trying to do.

Drives me absolutely mad, especially when you're stuck behind them doing 20 under the limit and can't overtake, so you're forced to stare at it.

All booked, the Daimler shall be returning!

Knew it would, these don't die easily. My 3.2s parts car sat for 3.5 years out in the elements with a crash damaged wiring loom. Fired literally first bump of the key and idled perfectly with nothing more than a battery. Although it did smokescreen the whole street...

Went on many school trips on this exact coach, I remember the musty seats and rattling plastics well. The company still uses it so nearly 2 decades later I'm getting stuck behind the bloody thing coming home from work some mornings.

It happens, once you roll her out, give her a wash and hear that engine fire up I guarantee you'll want to be out on the road again.

The alternator was the reason the previous owner of mine gave up on it, took a new one with me, fitted it on his drive and drove 255 miles home faultlessly

Nah just a lowly 4.0, it's on the wrong wheels. Never had the pleasure of driving an XJ81 unfortunately.

I did wonder about the colour, now I want to see it out at a show some day even more. How come it's been laid up so long?

Very special car is that, would love a final year XJR one day, you'd definitely regret selling. Itching to get my Daimler back out this year once the roads aren't salty.
