Peyer Clines books are very good. He has a couple of series you may like: Threshold - aliens, cthulu, Lovecraft, &cults, and Ex-Heroes - superheroes vs Zombies.

You must be psychic. I just finished my umpteenth re-listen on audible and I thought "I should buy a physical copy"...and then was very disappointed.... publishing is a very weird industry. I will keep hoping for a streaming service to buy the rights!

Kamali clearly sets the scene that the women of Iran have been fighting for freedom for a long time and their rage has sustained them. This book made me cry but also gave me a deep respect for the shir zan - the Lion Women of Iran.

As a government worker (not US) & as a human with a brain, this is terrifying. An unelected person has taken over government departments. I think of the information I have access to as part of my job & all the harm it could cause in the wrong hands. How is a foreigner allowed to take over like this?

Agreed, there's a reason in ancient cultures they had people who farmed & people who built/brewed/ran businesses. It takes a village. They just didn't have people trademarking the wheat & hoarding the chickens. We have enough, we just need to share it.

My building is on a corner, the original block was 100 ABC St but after it was built it became 1 XYZ St. I submitted it to google maps & they updated it fairly quickly. Delivery drivers still can't find it, but it is correct now at least

Fruiting. It isn't a viable option for one person to become self sufficient, let alone community sharing. Maybe if there was ground soil but the housing blocks are smaller & smaller & there are so many more apartments nowadays

I got some weird caterpillar bug in my balcony garden, 4 stories up. It ate through my fig, lemon, tomatoes, all the herbs, killed everything. & then I had to work out how to dispose of all the dirt & started again. It was a lot of work & took years, it's been 2yrs & my plants still aren't back to-

It was so much worse than the witches. I just kept thinking I don't see a problem, run off & live in the forest! It's better than the alternative!

For that reason I didn't find the witches particularly scary, nor did I understand any of the girls aversion to joining the coven. I never understand books where people refuse to become witches. This is a sombre reminder of a shameful past, but it is very light on the horror & witchcraft
