Dans le doublage français, ils ont donné à Doc Savage la voix de Sylvester le chat. :(

I just put together the whole song, a 7+ minute "Ballad of Doc Savage" that I got from the movie audio. I kept the intro from the snow: DOC SAVAGE THE MAN OF BRONZE! Then it goes right into HAVE NO FEAR, THE MAN OF BRONZE IS HERE! and has the "trilling"+Doc code audio at the end plus whistled verses

That script is over 10 years old now. While it is set in the 30s, the characters are not retro. And Shane Back's Doc Savage is not the pulp Doc Savage. And Duane Johnson isn't a 1930s Doc Savage. They could easily make that film -- there's just no need to call it Doc Savage.

Great summation! One point: Doc and crew were created by S&S VP Henry Ralston & Editor John Nanovic. They brought in Lester Dent as the prime writer for the series. In the early years all three men would work on many plot ideas, etc. Dent was instrumental in fleshing out the characters.

Street and Smith certainly thought he was a "Superman."

It before high school but the Doc Savage series shaped many of my views and attitudes for the benefit of others.

Most of the Doc Savage novels are already in the Public Domain here in Canada. There hasn't been a new Clark Savage novel since 2018. Conde Nast has basically already abandoned the original Doc for his grandson Dr. Brandt "Doc" Savage as "written" by James Patterson.

Did you know Doc Savage operated an institution in Upstate NY where he & other surgeons operated on lawbreakers to remove all memory of their past & trained them to be "useful citizens." The authors probably had read the "crime gland" works of Dr. Schlapp (1921) and Dr. Reynolds (1930).
