“An absolute majority of the House -- 218 -- is required for members outside of leadership to force consideration of a measure. Even if a member resigns or dies, their signature would remain valid.”

How could Congress compel the release of the Jeffrey Epstein files?
Growing calls for transparency in the Jeffrey Epstein saga will be left unanswered this week -- frustrating lawmakers from both parties.

“Members may add or remove their names until a petition has obtained 218 signatures. If a discharge petition reaches this threshold—a majority of the House's 435 Members—the list of names is frozen, printed in the Congressional Record, and the discharge motion is entered in the House Journal.”

You can pay for ESPN Unlimited—which is a higher tier than ESPN Plus— and watch all the ESPN network stuff even without a cable subscription, including games being broadcast on SECN. You can get it bundled with Hulu and Disney, etc.

You should make a Doctor Henderson: 2 parts Fernet Branca to 1 part crème de menthe. Typically 1.5 oz : 3/4 oz ratio. Can be served over ice.

‘Tis truly a drink of the sophisticated alcoholic.

That makes me feel better about your post, and worse about this site.

Now I’m even more curious how your autocorrect defaulted to that.

Does “skeet” mean something different now than when Lil Jon sang about it in my youth? Or do you have a way more adventurous spirit on the stairs than I ever will?

That tracks. Between that area and the alley by First National we had to take to get to the parking garage, it was always an adventure.

I may be misremembering, but even up to 2010 I’m not sure it was even paved. Just some grass patches and dirt.

More precisely, it’s between Robinson Plaza (a/k/a the IRS building) and Corporate Tower, right where Main Street dead ends at Robinson. The Colcord and Robinson Renaissance flank the ends of that block, but do not abut this plaza.

Do you not have ESPN+ as part of all the Hulu/Disney stuff that my children have lyingly insisted they watch “all the time” so we can’t get rid of it?

Arkansas absolutely does not have deeper pockets. It’s a poverty program that throws what resources it has at basketball and then hopes that football will work itself out.

It’s why we had an OL coach as our head coach for 5 1/2 seasons.

Collins was unpopular in 2020. The Dems had an opening to take her out, and ran a 49 y/o woman who was the former speaker of the Maine House of Representatives and relatively popular. Maine still sent Collins back to the Senate.

I don’t see Mills doing any better.

You’re a better dad than I will ever be when it comes to this soccer stuff. She has my enthusiastic support when she’s on the field. I’ll go to all her games. I’ll take her to practice. But I just can’t get to the next level of being a soccer dad, and lack the willpower to try.

I will never be a good enough soccer parent to switch sides. I’ll start where I belong, but I will stay there for the game.

Soybean cultivation as part of a crop rotation was particularly good because soybeans were a profitable crop that fixed nitrogen back into the soil. Without soybean cultivation, nitrogen has to be applied to the soil from chemical fertilizers.

Most of this food is being exported. It is not meant for domestic markets. There will still be people and businesses to fill demand to feed people in the US. And any subsidy package can be geared to provide money to only a necessary number of people to handle domestic needs.
