Whilst I agree, where I draw the line is the nonsense that Gran Turismo pulled. Pay full price for a game with hundreds of advertised car models, but really most (about 80%) were dupes and direct ports from the older games, had virtually no damage modelling, interiors, headlights, wipers…

But the catch is, apparently, that anyone that seeks out that help either doesn’t have NPD, has already started to heal themselves, is backed into a corner or have a “purpose” behind seeking therapy.
You can’t make someone change. Why would a narcissist ever try to change when they were never wrong?

When we say “Narcissistic Abuse” it refers to the common traits of a type of abuse that has been perpetrated. It’s not a diagnosis of the abuser, it’s a description of the difficulties that the subject of that abuse endured.
Some folks with NPD may seek help, but never because a victim told them to.

The conversation around narcissistic abuse is for the traumatised survivors.
Those who have lived in a gaslit, hurt and rescue cycle of manipulation, coercion and control, that have trouble trusting their feelings and memories without evidence, and are left with deep trauma with dozens of triggers.

So many folks on this platform talking about diagnosis, labelling ppl as narcissists, that’s pointless.
Nobody can tell a real narcissist that they are hurting anyone, it’s not in their reality, so it doesn’t permeate.
Therapists cite people with NPD as the hardest to work with because of this.
