In Australia and New Zealand today, August 31 is Malaya and Borneo Veterans Day. One of the veterans I met was Rambahadur Limbu VC, after he was awarded his VC, but before he received the medal.

As it will be VJ Day on the 15th A reminder: there are at least three soldiers who served in Burma during World War II. Buried in Shorncliffe Military Cemetery
For those interested in "The Forgotten War", also buried in the cemetery is a soldier who fought in Burma during the Great War (World War I)

It must be nice going to Battlefield Cemeteries. I just do the Military Cemetery at Shorncliffe. Here, apart from the Boer Wars, Crimea, Franco-Prussian, Malaya, etc and, WW1 and WW2, I need knowledge of Kachin.

Two highlights with this podcast our second on the Battle of Omdurman, 1898! Firstly, the blank stupidity - and courage - of the 21st Lancers famous charge and secondly the worst ever Winston Churchill impression! Bring back Gary! Please share! Thanks! open.spotify.com/episode/1ox4...

The Battle of Omdurman is not an easy subject. And to do it without Gary is even worse. Perhaps a massive outpouring of love might persuade him to stay? Any way the first of three podcasts on this cathartic, murderous battle. Please share! open.spotify.com/episode/0gCU...

A request, having had some success on here previously! Are there any Edinburgh / Glasgow based academics specialising in ecology and rewilding out there who’d be prepared to give a lecture or run a session for a group of US students coming over in May next year?
Please repost!

I tried to share an article on air-to-air refuelling on this page. Air-to-air refuelling is something Air Forces do all the time. Fuel is carried in one aircraft and is used to refuel another. It is now

18 words added to my research on Shorncliffe Garrison, and the citation for those 18 words? 6 lines long.

Daft thing is that no one will ever read my research.

Yesterday, Wilmer Chavarria, a Vermonter & US Citizen, was held and interrogated for hours in the Houston airport by CBP agents.

He's a school superintendent. So don’t try to tell us this is about removing violent criminals. This is how they use psychological terror to intimidate us into silence.

I don’t think anyone is prepared for what they just did w/ ICE.

This is not a simple budget increase. It is an explosion - making ICE bigger than the FBI, US Bureau of Prisons, DEA,& others combined.

It is setting up to make what’s happening now look like child’s play. And people are disappearing.

Florida prison camps…

Given that Jewish property accrued to the Nazi state when people had to migrate or were deported, what’s going on with the property, cars, etc of people in the US where this is happening?

I’ve not seen anything about it - any pointers, please?

As it will soon be the 4th of July, and hopefully we will not forget the Americans who served in Allied Armies in the First World War. One such American is John Drexel, who served in the Escadrille Lafayette. He is buried in St Martin's Church Yard, Aldington, Kent. #FFW #WW1

Hey Bluesky,

Hoping for a little help, and it only takes a second. Our vids on racial and gender equality get substantially fewer views.

Could you help us out and give our newest vid on Second Wave Feminism a view as well as share it with others?

Thanks!!
