I’ve been trying to widen my scope of banned books to read beyond the k-12 lists, this is one I had only heard of in passing and wasn’t aware of what it was about at all. But I might give it a read as I’m in my early 20s and I’ve got about a year by your estimate before I wouldn’t enjoy it 😅😂
